Freedom! What a treasured word that is in our culture. We fight to gain it. Thousands have given their lives to protect it. We call America “the land of the free.” But, what does it really mean? Set aside thoughts of life and liberty for a moment. How many of us are truly free? Free from anger and fear…from guilt and addictions…from regrets…from hiding? Free to truly be who we were meant to be? Christ came to set us free, so why do so many still believe that following Him means losing their freedom just to follow a bunch of rules? As so often is the case with Jesus, it is in the paradox that we find the truth. Join us as we discover what Jesus meant when He said He came to set captives free. |
