iPad Mini

Why Yes.
I will have that.

I gotta be honest, I’m rather excited for this. I’ve refrained from buying the current new iPad with the hopes of finding just the right reading device. I had the first generation iPad and loved it, but always felt it was a bit much as an investment for me who primarily used it for reading. The kindle made more sense, but was just not as full featured as the iPad, plus the iPad just fit so well in my iPhone/Mac ecosystem. I can read quick little ditties on my phone, but ultimately it’s just a bit small for long for reading.

This just might be the step I was looking for, and I’m quite excited it’s at a slightly higher pricepoint than I’d hoped, but not unfathomable.

Looking forward to it.

Wedgefield 600

This post is short and sweet, but I just wanted to share that today I scored a Wedgefield 600 Electric Typewriter. It’s hard to think of why I’ve wanted one for quite some time now, but when I came upon it for only $10 in perfect working condition I just couldn’t pass it up. After typing on it for a little under and hour so far today it certainly isn’t the most ergonomically comfortable machine ever designed an it has also revealed the ugly reality of how many mistakes I make when typing. All in all, I think it’s going to be fun to see how I can work it into projects and eventually using it to write “personal” notes to people.

Here she is:

Dear Typography

Dear Typography,
I love you too.
But there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.
Something that’s been eating away at me for years now… I’m cheating on you.
With illustrations and photographs.
I know. I know you’re angry. Calm down. Please.

Hey! I’m not a tramp! TAKE THAT BACK!
Look, you need to know they mean nothing to me. Sort of. Look, I’m torn between you all. You’re wonderful most of the time. But occasionally you don’t satisfy me, and you leave me with no choice but to cheat.

I know that sounds bad. I’m just really confused right now and need some space.

I’ll call you.

How Would You Like Your Graphic Design?

There are times when things just need to be explained using a spectacular Venn diagram. I made this last night whilst sitting on a screened in porch by an outdoor fireplace when it was late. Design is a funny thing, not as funny as a Kangaroo jumping on a trampoline, but let’s be honest what is as funny as that? I’ll give you a little hint: nothing.

Anyway, I love design, but it has its limitations in the creation process. Hopefully this helps you understand what those are limitations are, and helps you choose how you would like your design work in the future.

Your thoughts?
